“A little over a year ago, we were both firmly entrenched in our couch-potato lifestyles and decided we needed to do something about it. After a deep dive into the internet’s abyss, Nicole stumbled upon Bodies of Empowerment (BOE) and, thank goodness, she didn’t just hit the “skip” button after she read through the site and didn’t get the “gym bros” vibe.
We had a chat with Nate about the investment and thought, “Yep, this sounds like the kind of gym where we won’t be judged for our complete lack of fitness knowledge and awkward attempts at using gym equipment.” So, we signed up, braving the nerves of walking in on Day One. Steve greeted us like we were long-lost buddies, which, let us tell you, was a huge relief considering we were about as comfortable in a gym as fish out of water.
Fast forward a year, and sure, we’ve hit a few speed bumps along the way, but we’ve kept showing up. We’ve worked our butts off, bonded with our workout buddies, and managed to stay positive (most of the time)—even on days when our motivation was as low as our energy levels. And yes, we’ve received the occasional “friendly reminder” about the importance of sleep and eating veggies (thanks for that, Steve and Nate).
Steve and Nate are like the ultimate fitness tag team—each bringing their own flair but working seamlessly together to push us to keep going. It’s hard to quit when you have people like them making it feel like you’re moving forward, not just running in place.
We haven’t quite hit all our goals yet, but we’re definitely making progress. Our clothes fit better, and we no longer feel like we’re about to collapse after a flight of stairs.
The best part? Knowing that Nate and Steve genuinely care about our progress and are always willing to share their expertise, whether it’s tweaking our form or gently nudging us to eat a bit healthier.
Thanks for everything!
