I had always been active in sports throughout high school and college, becoming an avid runner at 28. My 6’2 frame maintained a steady weight of 160 lbs for years. I ran 12 marathons, including Boston. Then, in 1998 I began having health problems and running ceased. I had a liver transplant in 2003, shutting down all forms of exercise and ballooned to a weight I am embarrassed to share. I turned 60 this year and decided that I was tired of looking and feeling totally out of shape! I couldn’t discipline myself to do anything about it though, so I decided to look for a personal trainer. This is when I discovered Bodies of Empowerment. I told Nate that in all the years that I had exercised, I never picked up a weight, so I didn’t know what to expect. He told me that if I listen to him I would lose 1-2 lbs of fat per week. I told him to sign me up! I have now been training with Katie at Bodies of Empowerment ever since (12 weeks), and have lost 15 lbs and more importantly, 5% body fat! I feel stronger, clothes fit better and most importantly, my wife loves the results! I couldn’t have achieved these results without the guidance and encouragement from Katie. Thanks for making an old dog feel like a young pup again!
